\(\dfrac{2x}{3}-\dfrac{x}{4}\) \(=\dfrac{2x}{3}\times \dfrac{4}{4}-\dfrac{x}{4}\times \dfrac{3}{3}\)
  \(=\dfrac{8x}{12}-\dfrac{3x}{12}\)
  \(=\dfrac{5x}{12}\)
