\(\dfrac{a}{3}-\dfrac{b}{4}\) \(=\dfrac{a}{3}\times \dfrac{4}{4}-\dfrac{b}{4}\times \dfrac{3}{3}\)
  \(=\dfrac{4a}{12}-\dfrac{3b}{12}\)
  \(=\dfrac{4a-3b}{12}\)
