Show that  \(\sqrt{9\times 4}=\sqrt{9}\times \sqrt{4}\).  (2 marks)

\(\text{LHS}:\sqrt{9\times 4}\) \(=\sqrt{ 3\times 3\times 2\times 2}\)
  \(=\sqrt{ 6\times 6}\)
  \(=6\)

 

\(\text{RHS}:\sqrt{9}\times \sqrt{4}\) \(=3\times 2\)
  \(=6\)

\(\therefore\ \text{LHS}\ =\ \text{RHS}\)

\(\therefore\ \sqrt{9\times 4}=\sqrt{9}\times \sqrt{4}\)
