\(\text{Check points by substituting into }y=-2x+3\)

\((1\ ,\ 1) \longrightarrow\) \(RHS\) \(=-2\times 1+3\)
    \(=1\)
    \(=LHS\)

\((-2 ,\ 7) \longrightarrow\) \(RHS\) \(=-2\times (-2)+3\)
    \(=7\)
    \(=LHS\)

\(\therefore\ (1\ ,\ 1)\ \text{and }(-2 ,\ 7) \text{ both lie on the line}\ \ y=-2x+3\)
