Show Worked Solution

\(\text{Solution 1}\)

\(\text{Paul’s time}\) \(=1\ \text{hour and 10 minutes}+(25\%\times 1\ \text{hour and 10 minutes})\)
  \(=70+17.5\)
  \(=87.5\ \text{minutes}\)

\(\text{Solution 2 (Advanced)}\)

\(\text{Paul’s time}\)

\(= (1\ \text{hour and 10 minutes})\times 125\%\)

\(= 70\times 1.25\)

\(= 87.5\ \text{minutes}\)

\(\therefore\ \text{Paul took 87.5 minutes to complete the race.}\)
