--- 9 WORK AREA LINES (style=lined) ---

Show Answers Only

Answers could include three of the following:

  • Circuit training involves a series of exercise stations completed in sequence, with each station performed for a set time such as 30–45 seconds.
  • Rest between stations is kept minimal, so the player’s heart rate stays within the aerobic training zone for the whole circuit.
  • Stations can be made sport-specific, for example shuttle runs, skipping, step-ups and chest passes against a wall. Each station targets different muscle groups.
  • Completing several laps of the circuit develops cardiovascular and muscular endurance, allowing the player to maintain intensity across all four quarters of a match.
