b.    \(\text{Translate 1 unit to the left, then 1 unit up.}\)

Show Worked Solution
a.     \(\text{LHS}\) \(=\dfrac{x+2}{x+1}\)
    \(=\dfrac{(x+1)+1}{x+1}\)
    \(=1+\dfrac{1}{x+1}=\ \text{RHS}\)

b.
    \(y=\dfrac{1}{x}\)

\(\text{Translate 1 unit to the left:}\)

\(y=\dfrac{1}{x}\ \rightarrow\ y=\dfrac{1}{x+1}\)

\(\text{Translate 1 unit up:}\)

\(y=\dfrac{1}{x+1}\ \rightarrow\ y=1+\dfrac{1}{x+1}=\dfrac{x+2}{x+1}\)
